HTL unveils new Oil Cooled Torque Pump

HEADQUARTERED in the UK, HTL Group is delighted to announce a further addition to its ever-growing OEM Controlled Bolting Product Range.

The Oil Cooled Torque Pump eliminates well-known issues associated with continuous operation in harsh ambient temperatures for all industrial bolting sectors; Petro Chemical, Rail, Construction, Oil and Gas etc.

Downtime caused by overheating can be costly, so a solution to eliminate overheating was sought, with the design focusing on keeping the hydraulic fluid temperature to an optimum range that will permit continuous use.

Designed and manufactured within HTL Group’s world class facility in the UK, the integral oil cooler utilises lightweight, corrosion resistant components that ensures the overall unit remains extremely portable, whilst at the same time ensuring key critical operating temperatures for seal degradation are not exceeded.

Stephen Jones, CEO, commented: “We supply to customers across the world operating our hydraulic torque wrenches in both hot and cold environments. Utilising our In-House Engineering Design Team, we designed and manufactured the Oil Cooled Hydraulic Torque Pump. This product has been rigorously tested and is now readily available from our extensive stocks.”

Bosch unveils new 18-volt rotary hammer

BOSCH Professional is extending its 18-volt product range and is launching the GBH 18V-26 D Professional – the first powerful cordless rotary hammer with D-handle.

The tool has an impact energy of 2.5 joules with a high impact rate of 4,350 beats per minute and can therefore drill just as fast as the corded GBH 2-26 Professional model from Bosch. The brushless motor of this cordless rotary hammer contributes to the efficiency of the tool. When combined with a 5.0 Ah battery, the GBH 18V-26 D Professional can drill around 110 holes (8 x 40 millimetres) in concrete. For particularly demanding drilling and chiselling applications, tradespeople can use the high-performance ProCORE18V battery. Regardless of which battery you use, the Bosch Professional 18 V system guarantees compatibility with new and existing power tools and chargers in this voltage class.

The GBH 18V-26 D Professional is the world’s first cordless rotary hammer with Dhandle, offering tradespeople KickBack Control and providing a higher level of user protection. In the event of sudden and unpredictable rotation of the rotary hammer around the drilling axis ‒ which can occur if the drill becomes blocked in reinforced concrete ‒ the integrated sensor shuts off the motor in a fraction of a second. This prevents unexpected kickback and can therefore reduce the risk of injury.

Better comfort - Vertical drilling and chiselling with less fatigue The GBH 18V-26 D Professional is optimised for vertical applications, thanks  to the D-handle, tradespeople can carry out drilling and chiselling tasks overhead or in the ground with less fatigue. The slimline design and low weight of just 2.6 kg allows them to save their energy. The D-shaped grip provides space for a large switch. Tradespeople can therefore work comfortably in various positions, whether this is removing stubborn tiles or making wall openings in narrow spaces.

The GBH 18V-26 D Professional is particularly suitable for installers who perform tasks in various materials such as concrete, reinforced concrete, masonry, brickwork, wood and metal. Using the available SDS-plus adapter, you can also clamp round-shank drill bits or bit holders, so that you can drill in wood and masonry and drive in screws. An LED on the housing continuously lights up the working area – for even more comfort.

The GBH 18V-26 D Professional cordless rotary hammer is part of the Bosch Professional 18V System. The Bosch Professional 18V System ensures a best-in-class experience for trade professionals. Since 2008 all batteries in the same voltage class are compatible with new and existing Bosch Professional tools. Tools are combined with the most powerful batteries and fastest charging technology for ultimate performance and the wide range of body only tools and separate batteries and chargers gives professionals maximum flexibility to only buy what they need. The Bosch Professional 12V System will follow the same principle in the next few months.

The GBH 18V-26 D Professional cordless rotary hammer is available now.  These are the recommended retail prices excluding VAT. Subject to change.

Armorgard makes fit-out easier for contractors

ARMORGARD has launched a new board trolly to make dry lining and specialist internal fit-out easier for construction companies.

The LA750 PRO provides contractors a welcome solution to the challenge of moving heavy loads of large sheets of plasterboard and other sheet materials round corners and through doors.

A unique H-frame design means the LA750 PRO can easily angle through tight spaces. The unit also has a telescopic handle to prevent crush injuries, and innovative clamps to prevent spills.

"It's something of a game-changer for trade professionals, who can now move up to 750kg of board single-handedly," said Armorgard Managing Director, Terry Mitchell.

"We're obsessed with the science of easier and safer manual handling, and the LA750 PRO is a simple but brilliant way to move large sheet materials without the pain of ratchet straps, overloading and spills."

Energy Solutions unveils innovative hybrid generator

VARIPOWER, designed and manufactured in the UK, is the latest innovation in power incorporating all the elements needed to supply power to remote or off grid locations.

The unit’s core is a true variable speed generator, which runs between 900 and 2,000 rpm; and a highly efficient lithium battery bank which will utilise stored power for when silent power is needed or loads are low. This combination makes VariPower a far more economical and efficient power option compared to a traditional fixed speed generator.

Running at just 900 rpm the generator is using less fuel, making less noise and releasing fewer emissions. This also helps with increasing the longevity of the unit - the unit does not need to run at full speed for every load - therefore increasing the interval between generator services and replacement.

VariPower meets the increasing demand from industry for reduced operating costs, lower emissions and the option of silent power.  Available in - 48VDC, single and three phase options the units offer 19kW prime hybrid power.

VariPower has a proprietary control system which offers a straightforward way to operate and control the unit. The display screen allows monitoring of all the relevant data from the engine, batteries and power electronics. This information can also be viewed remotely via an optional 3G internet connection allowing the reading to be seen on tablet, PC or smart phone.

Said Energy Solutions' Commercial Director Mark Penny: "These units meet the increasing demand from industry - particularly construction, telecom and utilities markets, for reduced operating cost, lower emissions and the option of silent power. With the options to connect renewable energy sources to them as well, they offer a true hybrid power option for business."

Glendun Plant stocks up with Trime X-ECO LED lights

GLENDUN Plant Sales, the Trime Group’s official dealer in Ireland, has ramped up its stocks of Trime X-ECO LED lighting towers, as its sales of Trime products continue to expand.

Commenting on this new order for thirty-six X-ECO LED lighting sets, Glendun Plant’s Dermot Cunnie said: “In late 2016, we spent some considerable time looking and comparing the various options in the market. However, we soon discovered that the Trime X-Eco range is by far the highest quality package that offers outstanding features, value and reliability.”

“Our customers have commented how the X-ECO LED is quick and easy to set-up, along with superior fuel efficiency, performance and reliability."

The X-ECO LED has a number of environmental qualities and safety aspects. The set is fitted with the AMOSS safety system, which automatically lowers the mast if the lighting set is moved whilst the mast is still erected. The complete unit features an external emergency stop button, a fully bunded fuel tank, four height adjustable stabilisers and site levels for guidance during deployment. The energy saving LED lamps will work for up to 2,000 hours without replacement.

Dermot summarised his relationship with Trime by saying: “Trime UK is one of the best supplier partners to work with. We immediately felt part of their team and have been able to leverage other products that they are bringing onto the market such as the X-DUST dust suppression units and the emission free X-BATTERY lighting tower.”

The Trime Group has over 50 years of experience in the development and marketing of environmentally sustainable lighting sets for the construction and rental markets. Trime UK is headquartered in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire; its manufacturing plant is based near Milan, Italy. It has representation throughout Scotland, for parts service and repairs.

GAP Hire Solutions's bold move for dumper safety

TO improve their customers’ site safety and meet growing demand, GAP Hire Solutions has announced that all new 6.0t and 9.0t dumpers purchased going forward will be cabbed.

Ken Stewart, GAP’s Head of Procurement, explained: “Due to the recognised superior safety standards, the construction and related industries are moving from ROPS (Roll Over Protection Systems) towards cabbed dumpers. The machines are particularly advantageous in the rain or cold (heating as standard and air conditioning as an optional extra), allowing the operator to work comfortably and safely all year round. Extra protection, good head and legroom and optimum all-round visibility are other benefits reported by users.”

GAP has numerous cabbed dumpers in the fleet already, all of which are manufactured and supplied by Wacker Neuson and powered by Perkins engines. The dumpers are hydrostatic all-wheel drive, which eliminates frequent gear shifts with hydrostatic braking as soon as the accelerator is disengaged.

Ken continued: “Utilisation of our current 6.0t and 9.0t Wacker Neuson cabbed dumper fleet in both forward tip and swivel variants is good which has allowed for additional dumpers to be forecasted for delivery throughout the year. As more interested parties see these higher specified machines as the way forward, GAP's commitment to embracing innovation will ensure we are well positioned to fulfil the industry's needs."
